Research

Dr. Filowitz's has done pioneering research in oxygen-17 nuclear magnetic resonance which lead to publications in various professional journals. While working for the Exxon Research and Engineering Company in New Jersey he did research on the effects of fuel additives on automotive emissions, performance, and durability. He has performed laboratory and field research on engine lubricants and developed a new line of marine lubricants for Exxon worldwide and reformulated Esso Europe's heavy duty engine oil line for trucks and off-highway equipment. Dr. Filowitz also served as Exxon's International Marketing Technical Service Coordinator for passenger car and heavy duty engine oils, transmission fluids, base stocks, gear oils, and torque fluids. Before coming to CSUF he joined Wynn Oil Company serving as Director, Research and Development, Vice President of Operations, Vice President and General Manager and President and CEO.
