CEL Tournament
Chino, May 31, June 1st
The Dynamos exacted revenge for last week's loss
to Rowlands Heights by beating them 3-2 in the CEL tournament.
Scoring 6 goals in two games the team advanced to the
semi-finals. The semi-final game against Chino was fast paced and
very exciting. Although the Dynamos ultimately lost they played
excellent soccer and were the only team in the tournament to put
a goal past Chino.

SEMI-FINALISTS CEL TOURNAMENT

Great Western Shootout
San Dimas , May 24, 25th
Once again the team played great soccer. Our new
addition, Kasrum James, scored a great goal (even if it was a toe
poke) and the team almost got through to the semi-finals with one
win, one loss and a draw. Nadine had some great saves and we won
two out of the three penalty shoot-outs. Next week we will have
Nicky and Elise back for the CEL tournament.

And afterwards, cup cakes for Camille's
birthday............

Strawberry Cup
Camarillo, May 17,18th
Playing awesome soccer the girls defeated three
teams and held one team to a draw to take FIRST PLACE in the 2003
Strawberry Cup. Thanks to all the parents who made the drive, got
up early both mornings, and cheered the team so loudly.
Presenting....... the 2003 Strawberry Cup
Champions

and before the win.....the team and parents
took over Applebees...

Walnut Spring Fling
May 3, 4
It rained and rained and rained ........and
still we played. Despite torrential rain the games went ahead and
the Dynamos learnt what it is like to play real soccer in the
rain. Once again we met up with a team from Chino - this time the
#1 tournament team and the Dynamos played the best soccer they
have to date. Although the Chino team ultimately won the game,
the Dynamos closed down Chino's passing game.

Chino Milk Can
April 26, 27
A tough draw in this tournament but we still
took one win and........the team was awarded the
"Sportsmanship Award". The 3 vs. 3 tournament was a lot
of fun and the Three Junior Dynamos (Tobi, Katy and Nicole) went
to the semi-finals to lose ultimately to a Chino team.

April 7
Won one, lost one, broke
one
The team played Chino
Hills a couple of weeks ago in a CEL game. It was a great effort
and Camille scored her first goal of the season. Final score 3 -
2 to the Dynamos. A tough game followed the next weekend against
Chino. Unfortunately the Dynamos were outplayed by an excellent
soccer team but they never gave up scoring two goals in the last
quarter including a great penalty from Nicky. And this week
...... Coach made an excellent save in warm-up play against
Stevie but broke his leg in the process - serves him right for
taking on the Dynamos!!

Kachina Classic
March 14-16, Mesa Arizona
"We woz robbed", was the quote from Coach Stephen
when torrential rain led to the cancellation of the championship
game. After an awesome display of soccer from the entire team,
amazing goalkeeping by Elise and Claudia, and goals by Nicky,
Nicole, Tobi, Stevie and Nadine, the championship was decided by
a dubious goal scored against the Dynamos by the
"Liberty" team during the pool stage of the tournament.
In what Coach Stephen described as "the worst refereeing
decision since the 'hand-of God' by Maradona in the 1986 world
cup" a goal was awarded in the last quarter when the ball
appeared to have slipped under the side netting. Nevertheless the
Dynamo team had a great event and are runners-up in the 17th
Annual Kachina Classic.

And after the game..........
